Class description
Wool applique isn't just for primitive style projects! It’s a great material for modern applique and no needle turning or preparation required. Wool is a good material to upcycle as well. In this class, we will learn what to look for in new or upcycled materials, how to prepare wool for applique, and how to applique shapes to the background. We will also learn a few embroidery embellishment techniques for the perfect accent to your finished project. Some basic hand sewing knowledge will be helpful for this class, but no previous applique experience is necessary. Kit is included in the class fee.
Materials
- Felted wool fabric, (different from wool felt)
- Thread that matches your wool color
- Needle
- Background fabric
- Freezer paper
- Pencil
- Small sharp scissors, micro serrated blades helpful but not necessary
- Needle threader if desired.
